Divorce
I can't believe i started this 3 yrs ago, only posted 3 times. Life has changed so much in just the past year. I was married for 24 yrs and am in the midst of divorce-and not an easy one! It's always hard to realize that one partner is growing and the other isn't and when to decide that it's just not working and time to move on. It was not an easy decision, but it was the best decision. I turned 50 last year, and started seeing life in a whole new light. I realized (others already had) that my husband was very controlling and emotionally abusive (strangers wouldn't have caught on). He didn't want me to have friends, he didn't want me involved in the outside world. i had started selling cosmetics and was recruiting others, moving up in the "ranks". He always said he supported my business, but he started sabotoging it- slowly so I wouldn't realize. I didn't see all of that until I was no longer in the same house with him. Gosh, the things people pointed out to me once I moved out-they saw all of this years ago! So, I am hoping for it to be final in March- I am so tired of the things he has put me through these past 7 months. Tampering with my car, not giving me money when he was suppose to, cancelling our medical insurance, etc. Because of no money, I had to give him my car, I have never been without a car since I started driving. Little things we take for granted, it is a totally helpless feeling. I thank God for my kids love and emotional support, and my daughter and her family for letting me live with them as I go through this mess! It can only get better, 2011 has got to be much better!!

Indoor Tanning
I used to laugh about people going to tanning salons, now I've been doing it for over 2 years! It started with getting a tan for my son's wedding, and it was cheaper to buy a 1 yr membership. Well, before that year was up, I was hooked!! So, I continue to go. Do I worry about what it's doing to my skin? Of course, even more so lately. It just feels so good laying or standing in those beds. Maybe it's addicting, I don't know. The "experts" now claim that's true.
I do go out of my way to care for my skin though. I use good facial products, and micro-dermabrasion once a month. I use really rich, creamy body lotions- usually twice a day. I prefer shea butter lotions, they are really healthy for your skin, and hemp lotions also work well. I use a good eye cream, I'd have wrinkles there, regardless, but I do try do the best I can.
If you tan, a couple of musts- eye protection and always use lotion specifically for indoor tanning. The tanning salons want you to purchase from them, understandable, that's where they make most of their income! There are alot of very reliable websites where you can purchase your lotion, usually about half the cost of the salons. I never purchase from the salons, only once, when I first started tanning and didn't know any better.
I know, it's not good to tan- a tan means your skin is damaged. No arguement from me, but if you want to tan, please do it safely.

Happy Halloween!!!
Hope you are all having a great day and have lots of fun tonight!! I'm sure most everybody had parties over the weekend, so tonight is "passing out the candy" time.
It totally sucks having Halloween on a weeknight, gotta get up the next day for work or school.
I'm not passing candy out at my house tonight(yikes), hopefully my house will be ok when I get home. We are going to our daughter's house and spending the evening with our grand-daughters. I can't wait to see them in their costumes!! So, I may not be doing candy here, but I will be doing it over there.
If you're going out tonight, make sure to bundle up-it's cold out there!! If you're drinking, don't drive, and if you're driving, watch out for all the little ghosts and goblins making their candy rounds!!

Hi Everyone!
Ok, tonight I start my blog. I've never done this, but I hear people talk about it all the time. I will give my honest opinions on different topics, and hope I'm not too boring.
I just got a myspace up and going last week, to keep up with my kids and my "adopted" kids that my children have brought into my life. I have to admit, my kids are great, we have all been close and able to talk to each other about anything- I guess that's why their friends always have shown my husband and I how much they care about us. We are Mom and Dad #2 to them, and now they're giving us even more "grandkids". I wouldn't change it for anything, they have all brought so much love and happiness- as you can see, family is very important to us. We've all been through some rough times, but we are all there for each other, and that's what counts.
Anyway, myspace is pretty cool, so far I haven't been bothered by any "strangers" or porn, which I know can be a problem.
Last month I joined shoutlife.com, referred by my Mom. She is a Christian author and gospel/country singer. She just got home this weekend from a "lowkey" tour,, she and her husband travelled over 10,000 miles, they were gone almost 7 weeks, so it was a good way for us to keep in touch and be able to see some of the pictures they took on the tour. They plan to do it again next year!! If you're interested in checking out her website, you can go to www.bettyoverstreet.com, she also has Cd's and books for sale. I have to say, I prefer her newest CD over them all. It should be available now, if not, drop her a line and tell her you're interested and you can hear a preview, she'll direct you on that!!
And tonight I started this blog- I'm thinking I spend too much time on the computer, hehe!!
